Academy Pathways
The Artist Within & The Athlete Within
Students in Years 3 to12 at The Royal School, are presented with a distinctive privilege which allows them to immerse themselves in one of the specialised Academy Pathways. These pathways represent a curated selection of elective educational experiences providing the students with a dedicated weekly time slot where they can concentrate on nurturing and enhancing their innate talents and proficiencies. Whether those talents are in the domain of sports, various cultural disciplines, or artistic endeavours, students are presented with the opportunity of honing these skills. All of this invaluable learning occurs under the watchful eyes and expert tutelage of highly-trained coaches and mentors, each an expert in their respective fields.

Our House System
The Royal School House System has been designed to enhance and value the sense of belonging and certainty within every student. This will ultimately personify the Values and Spirit of our school community. Hence, providing our students with a sense of pride and identity, within a supportive and safe environment.
We aspire to create a stronger students’ voice and enhance the spirit of collegiality.at The Royal School we take our guardianship liability extremely seriously.
Our House names are based on our Royal theme of Traditions. Each name has been chosen carefully to embrace the school values. Each House will relate to and promote indispensable life principles. The role of THE HOUSE CREW is to recognise and honour each student’s strengths, while being attentive to provide support whenever there are concerns to be addressed, at a moment’s notice. Our House system is based on a MERIT SCHEME, whereby our Primary Students earn PAWS and our Secondary Students earn Merits.
House System Objectives
We aim to:
- Embrace Empathy
- Praise Accomplishment
- Enhance the Sense of Belonging within our school community
- Raise Awareness of individual and collective responsibility
- Provide opportunities to develop spiritual, social, intellectual and physical competence
- Respect for Self and The Other
House Points:
- Each House competes to gain the highest number of house points at the end of each term by the end of the school year.
- Regular House point sums will be announced at student briefing (morning lines and assemblies). The Winning House will be RECOGNISED and CELEBRATED.
- Pupils can contribute to their house point totals in a number of ways both in and out of the classroom.
- All pupils are expected to participate in at least one of the many house events/activities.
